The EYE report

2 min read

Operations are Done. Eye's are done for now, Left eye is good (cataract surgery done) retina is staying viable . . . right eye . . . well it's 20/200 straight on (the damaged retina is what it is. So as it stands Left eye OK, just need a new script for close-up reading. General eyesight is doable . . . now to relearn 20+ years of muscle memory and use my Left eye instead of my Right one when doing action photography.

Note: causation, as the Dr said, it's just that your getting old (LOL) and the vitreous material which is a transparent stuff lining the inside of the eye, well, in my case it started to shrink and because it's sticky it pulled my retina away from the optic nerve creating a hole / tear, that was fixed but there is still damage to the rods & cones so I have a loss of vision in the central part of the eye (Dead Spot) . . . .

that's the breaks, my age is just catching up, and, yes the left eye still holds the potential of doing the same thing.

Blessed be, be safe

on a sad note, the mother (my Ex wife) of my two boys passed away 29 July. She contracted Covid (sadly she'd chosen not to be vaccinated, her choice) . . . A loss for my boys.

The good, cataract surgery went well

- Post surgery status of Right eye. Legally Blind right eye, non correctable.

- Retina damage non repairable, macular hole repaired.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Left eye, retina being pulled away by vitreous material, waiting to see if it releases on its own.

Me . . . unappy

I'm going to not post for a bit, will decide if this area will remain active. I've enjoyed sharing, watching and hopefully have been influential for a few of you.

Nothing wanted, Nothing expected . . . just enjoy the photos I have up for now.

Well I know my friends are interested in how my "post Eye Surgery prognosis" well after my visit today the Dr was "optimistic but that is it, just be positive" I still have some occlusions to my vision in the center that are well still there, since they are central it affects my distance vision as well as reading as it is like holding ones fingers in front of you eye and you can't see through it. That's the issue that is my concern and what the Dr doesn't yet want to commit to answering. (It depends if the retina heals), now as to the Second issue of the forming cataract . . . they are scheduling surgery for it, but still want to wait for the eye to heal further . . . So here is a photo, it is a great improvement from the pre-op condition. So far my Left Eye is still doing ok . . . .

Gomer Pyle said it best "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" . . .

If you don't know already, I edit my photos and other visual material with Corel's Paintshop Pro. I have used their products for years. Earlier this year they had a photo contest that I entered, well part of that entry (the rules), the fine print and agreements for entry is that you allow the company permission upon submission to use your submission for their product promotion. Well I did a product upgrade/update and what popped up during the install/load was this Photo I had submitted in the contest. Yep, I was surprised, nope didn't get compensated, or even notified of its usage . . . BUT, they used it in its entirety which included my name (credit) so . . . cool. We get recognition from everywhere . . .
